THE WAY FORWARD

Home > The way forward

By 2030, the average age of India’s population is projected to be around 30.8 years, according to TGM StatBox.

Based on the skill gap study conducted by The Economic Times and International Monetary Fund (IMF), India will require additionally 115 million to 148 million skilled manpower by 2030 on the services and manufacturing sectors. To meet the requirement, India needs to create 16.5 million jobs annually. To combat the issue, the Government of India, in collaboration with State Governments, is initiating several placement linked skill development programs to address the challenge.

Based on the context – where the Government of India and State Governments are launching placement linked skill development training programs to tackle unemployment or skill gaps, the ideal way forward of BPT would involve aligning strategy with these initiatives.

Alignment with Government Initiatives:

1.Collaborate with government agencies to co-design or co-deliver skill development programs.

Tailored Skill Development Programs:

1.Design Industry-relevant training modules based on current and emerging job roles.
2.Incorporate both technical and soft skills to enhance employability.
3.Use blended learning modules both offline & digital to expand reach.

Industry Academia Linkage:

1.Partner with educational institutions to identify and train potential candidates.
2.Offer internships or apprenticeships to create real-world exposure before placement.

Robust Placement Mechanism:

1.Building strong network with industry players and employers for job placement.
2.Establish a dedicated placement cell to track progress and measure outcomes.

Continuous Feedback & Monitoring:

1.Monitor training effectiveness using Key Placement Initiatives like Placement Rate, Retention, and Employer Satisfaction.
2.Collect feedback from trainees and employers to refine the program.

Key Focus:

1.Ensuring inclusivity by reaching out to rural youth, women and underprivileged groups.
2.Provide language, digital literacy or foundational skills where applicable.

Leveraging Technology:

1.Use digital platforms for enrollment, learning, assessment and certification.
2.Implementation of AI driven tools to match candidates with suitable job roles.
